Ngombe Lodge is situated in the heart of wild and beautiful Barotseland, the home of the Lozi people, where the Litunga (king), the Kuta (traditional parliament) and indunas (tribal chiefs) still reign.
Here, the Zambesi River is untouched by civilisation and criss-crossed only by mokoro (dug out canoe), hippo and crocodile. The occasional motor-boat with an adventurous fisherman looking for a big tigerfish is still a rare sight. The Kaale rapids a short distance up the river, provides a fantastic venue for the keen fly-fisherman, where he can fish for yellow or tigerfish. The birdlife, wildlife, the nearby Sioma(Ngonye) Falls, Liuwa Plains National Park, where the second largest antelope migration after the Serengeti occurs annually and our friendly staff makes this one of Africa's hidden treasures!
